Rockdale County, GA - After weeks of missed trash pickups, B&B Sanitation owner Betty Burgess is finally apologizing. Since Thanksgiving, Burgess has been working tirelessly to address the issues faced by her 2,400+ customers. She admits that for one week, their entire customer base experienced no trash collection.
The problems began when both of her sanitation trucks broke down last month. To resolve the issue, she hired a third-party company to cover the missed routes while handling thousands of calls and texts and addressing rumors that her business had shut down. As a result, Burgess has lost 300-400 customers over the past month and is now dealing with approximately $10,000 in disputes.
Some customers, like Indida Birto, have reported delays as recently as Friday. Birto emphasizes the importance of accurate estimates and timelines to help retain customers. Burgess assures that both trucks will be back in service by Monday, restoring operations to normal. In the meantime, she is following up with every customer and issuing any owed credits.
Despite the challenges, Burgess remains optimistic, stating, 'Just give us a chance. We can get it right. We will do whatever it takes to get it right.' However, this situation raises questions about the reliability of trash collection services and the impact of breakdowns on customers. What do you think? Do you agree or disagree with Burgess' approach? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
