Stunning Timelapse of Earth and Moon from the ISS (2026)

Prepare to be amazed as we dive into a breathtaking timelapse journey, offering an astronaut's perspective of our planet and its celestial companion. This extraordinary footage, captured by the European Space Agency, showcases Earth and the Moon in a way that will leave you in awe.

The video, a true masterpiece, reveals Earth's graceful curvature against the infinite darkness of space, with the Moon gracefully orbiting above. But here's where it gets intriguing: we also catch a glimpse of a delicate green aurora, a mesmerizing display of Earth's atmospheric magic.

And this is the part most people miss: the unfolding of the Space Station's solar panels, a silent yet powerful reminder of the energy that keeps the ISS operational.

This compilation is a gift from European Space Agency astronaut Sławosz Uznański-Wiśniewski, who spent 20 days aboard the Space Station, capturing these incredible moments. Uznański-Wiśniewski, a project astronaut, had a unique mission: to conduct a series of science experiments proposed by Polish institutions, his home country.

The mission, codenamed Ignis, involved 13 diverse experiments, each designed to unravel the mysteries of human health, technology, materials science, and biotechnology in the realm of space.

Uznański-Wiśniewski's journey began on June 25, 2025, when he launched aboard a SpaceX Dragon spacecraft, embarking on a 20-day adventure in space. The views of Earth and the Moon were captured from the Cupola, the iconic observation module of the Space Station.

The International Space Station, orbiting Earth at an altitude of approximately 400km (250 miles), completes an orbit every 90 minutes, resulting in a remarkable 16 orbits each day.

This timelapse is a testament to the beauty and wonder of our universe, and it leaves us with a thought-provoking question: What other secrets and wonders await us in the vastness of space?
